Selbstverständlich ist Barcelona die Hauptstadt der Autonomen Gemeinschaft Katalonien in Spanien. Auch die Hauptstadt der Provinz Anzoátegui in Venezuela, trägt den Namen Barcelona, aber der Name steht auch für andere Objekte.

So ist Barcelona der Name eines Asteroid des Hauptgürtels, der Name eines Sessel des Architekten Ludwig Mies van der Rohe und der neue Name des neuen Vierkern-Prozessor des Herstellers AMD, AMD K10.
