Nachdem Mitte dieser Woche ein Sturm über die Balearen-Inseln tobte, fiel in der Folge auf Mallorca und Menorca flächendeckend der Strom aus, womit über eine halbe Millionen Einwohner im Dunkeln sitzen mußte. Die Stromversorgung konnte erst nach über vier Stunden wieder hergestellt werden. Es ist davon auszugehen, dass die Ursache ein Blitzeinschlag im Umspannwerk in Alcudia auf Mallorca war.
